Tiffany Vlasveld is no stranger to the spotlight! Being the eldest child in a family band, her parents introduced her to a love for the stage at 6 years of age. Surfacing from a musical family of 10, her life has been full of experiences that only a life on tour can entail. With 20 years of teaching under her belt, she has lived by her creed; "A Good Teacher Makes Learning a Joy!"

Tiffany understands the love of music; that with nurturing and support the most beautiful melodies can be created. She has performed along stars such as Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson, Lee Ann Womack, LeAnn Rimes, Reba McEntire, Loretta Lynn and Tanya Tucker.

Tiffany specializes in Vocal Coaching, Performance, Songwriting and Piano and is passionate about helping others discover their own unique sound.

Zaac Pick is an award-winning songwriter, singer, performer, and touring musician with over 15 years experience in the music business. Many of his songs have appeared on TV shows like One Tree Hill, Degrassi, and Saving Hope, while he has performed alongside the likes of The Civil Wars, Bahamas, and Noah Gundersen.

He is excited to help students to learn to use the guitar as a tool to express their ideas and artistic voice in songs — working together to develop good creative habits and set goals that build confidence and skills.

Maddy Lofvendahl

Maddy Lofvendahl is a versatile artist, recognized for her talents as a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and recording artist. Her music blends the soulful tones of Soul/Pop with the rhythmic nuances of R&B, infused with elements of Jazz. Growing up in a musical environment, Maddy began her musical journey with guitar and piano, fostering a deep connection with music from a young age. This early passion evolved into a love for songwriting and music production, leading her to pursue formal music education at Berklee College of Music. Here, she delved into music theory, honed her skills in Jazz and Blues guitar, and expanded her knowledge in music production.

Maddy's artistic pursuits encompass a range of activities, including songwriting and session playing in both live and studio settings. Currently Maddy channels her expertise to write, produce, perform, and session play for numerous local artists. With a diverse range of experiences in Rock, R&B, Jazz, Blues, Folk, and Pop, Maddy brings a unique perspective to her music and collaborations. Beyond her musical endeavors, Maddy is deeply committed to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for her students, reflecting her passion for music education.

Rachel Park

Rachel Park is a classically trained Soprano originally from Crowsnest Pass, Alberta. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Opera Performance from the University of British Columbia, and a diploma certificate in Voice and German from the Universität Mozarteum SommerAkademie in Salzburg, Austria. Rachel has 13 years of experience with RCM Examinations for Voice and Piano, and is a RCM Gold Medalist for voice.

Rachel has performed as a soloist and in ensembles across Western Canada and internationally. She has toured the UK with the UBC Singers, and received 3rd prize in the Cork International Choral Competition. Currently, Rachel is working simultaneously in classical music, theatre, and casual performance. Her recent credits include Johanna in Sweeney Todd (Snapshots Collecti ve), Lead Soprano in the Yellowpoint Christmas Spectacular (Razzle Dazzle), and Zerlina U/S in Don Giovanni (UBC). Rachel is also a recording artist and songwriter, and has been featured on Hip-hop, Electronic, R&B and acoustic singles.

Jonathan Hancock

Jonny is a progressive, Vancouver-based multi-instrumentalist. After establishing his foundation for music through experimentation with various instruments, he formed a true connection to the guitar. Today, Jonny is a self-taught guitarist with advanced technical skills and theoretical knowledge. While rooted in Rock and Metal, he continues to expand his abilities to cover a variety of other genres such as R&B, Jazz and pop.

Jonny believes music speaks to everyone, no matter their background, and he is passionate about helping his students find their own sound. He provides a safe and fun space for his students to learn and grow, and he finds joy in watching them develop their skills and express themselves through their music.

Elias Cerpa

Elias Cerpa is a multi-instrumentalist, artist and producer originally from Calgary, Alberta. Born into a very musical family Elias’s love for music began at a very young age.

Beginning with piano at the age of five he quickly fell in love with playing and performing. In the years to come Elias joined many groups and collectives to continue on his musical path, playing in church with both piano and drums, joining the city's marching bands and after starting high school playing in and gigging with multiple jazz combos around the city. In 2016 After Obtaining his RCM level 9 in classical piano Elias switched his focus from classical to jazz piano training and on to guitar, bass and vocals.

In 2019 he moved to Vancouver to further pursue a career in music, studying at Nimbus School of Recording, completing his diploma in Audio Engineering & Studio Production in 2021. Currently Elias uses his skills and knowledge in both music and engineering to produce, write, perform and session play for multiple artists in Vancouver expanding his skillset and creating new projects.

Coach Elias believes that music connects us! He is inspired to help each student on their journey to become the artist they want to be. Music has brought so much joy to his life and he is thrilled to be sharing it with the Song of Stars team!

Tess Anderson

Tess Anderson is a singer, songwriter, performer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Growing up in Victoria BC, music became her biggest passion at a very young age. No stranger to the stage, Tess has taken every opportunity possible to be involved in musical ventures, including choirs, musical theatre shows, vocal jazz ensembles, a classic R&B band, acapella groups, as well as her own solo singer-songwriter projects.

In 2018 she graduated from Nimbus School of Recording and Media where she studied audio engineering, music production, artist development, and songwriting. Since then, she has thrown herself into a professional career as a recording artist and live performer, while songwriting and producing both for herself as well as other artists.

Tess is a firm believer that music lives within all of us, and that nurturing its growth is priceless across all aspects of life. She is passionate about equipping students with the necessary tools and techniques to powerfully use their own unique voices and become the artist they were truly meant to be.

Rachael Schroeder

Rachael Schroeder is a Vancouver-based singer, songwriter, and vocal producer whose work has garnered over 215 million streams since 2020. Her rendition of Coldplay’s Fix You (with Fearless Soul) has been featured in The Handmaid’s Tale (Season 4, Episode 5), a 2022 U.S. Olympic figure skating routine, numerous independent short films, and has surpassed 30 million streams across platforms.

A lifelong singer-songwriter, Rachael began developing her craft in early childhood, refining her vocal technique and songwriting skills through years of training, workshops, performances, and collaborations. From 2015 to 2017, she studied sound engineering, music production, music business, and artist development at an audio music school in Vancouver. With over 20 years as a trained contemporary vocalist and a decade of experience in vocal production and recording, she seamlessly bridges artistry and technology with equal skill and purpose.

Emma Alves

Emma Alves is an ethereal multi-instrumentalist, producer and recording artist. From a young age, attention has been focused on crafting honey-dipped vocal tones and whimsical songwriting skills. Emma experiments with many genres. From delicate R&B to progressive screamo she believes there is inspiration to be found within all of them. Emma's experience in the studio began at just 14 years old, writing the entirety of her debut album, 'Every Dreamer,' with the help of Song of Star's founder, Tiffany Vlasveld.

Now, Emma oversees all aspects of the creative process in the studio, finding magic in unique instrumentation styles using the Omnichord, QChord, and Keytar in many of her performances. Alongside those rather unknown instruments, Emma is skilled at piano, guitar, and audio engineering. With a passion for genre-blending and creative exploration, Emma Alves is committed to providing a safe space for students to experiment and find their inner artist.

Raiaan Parekh

Raiaan is an R&B and pop singer/songwriter originally from Kenya, currently residing in Vancouver, Canada. Influenced by crooners such as Etta James and Louis Armstrong, and storytellers like Eloise, Maya Delilah, and Bruno Major, Raiaan blends his smooth vocals with emotional and catchy melodies for a modern sound that pays homage to his predecessors. Working alongside some amazing songwriters and musicians, Raiaan has honed his skills as a songwriter and strives to create an environment for others to freely express themselves through songwriting.

Focusing on vocals, piano, and songwriting has been a key element of his success in his career, and he continues to grow as a musician and artist. Olivia Rapos

Olivia is a passionate performer with 17 years of stage experience and nearly 7 years of sharing her love of music with others. She is thrilled to continue her journey, bringing joy and inspiration to music lovers of all ages.

Specializing in various vocal genres, Olivia's musical journey is rich and diverse. She has studied jazz and musical theatre under the guidance of internationally renowned artists and has earned numerous awards in national jazz competitions. Recently, she completed a Bachelor of Music in Opera Performance from the University of British Columbia and holds a Grade 10 RCM Voice Certification.

As a versatile vocalist and instrumentalist, Olivia has released several albums in jazz and alternative music and has performed in various musicals, operas, and operettas across Canada. Her talents extend beyond voice; she has also won several national awards as the first-chair alto saxophonist and French horn player.

From the studio to the stage, Olivia's lifelong dedication to music shines through in every performance. She is excited to continue her journey, driven by a deep passion for education and a commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians.

Rebecca Sichon

Beginning her journey at a young age, Rebecca grew up in a rich musical family and fell in love with singing when she was five. Performing and recording in the studio became a natural part of her childhood. At age 8 she had recorded her first EP and by age 9 was shooting music videos in LA. She was passionately writing songs by the age of twelve.

With Royal Conservatory piano training and years of vocal coaching, Rebecca has utilized her studies to fuel her own singer/songwriter journey. Her love for expression over the years has led her to explore other creative outlets like guitar, ukulele, vocal jazz, musical theatre, acting and dance. These experiences provided her many opportunities to develop and grow as a musician, eventually leading her to pursue becoming a professional recording artist. Rebecca has an innate love for children and making music fun and inspiring! She is excited to coach her students to follow their own passions and experience the wonder of music and song.

Elizabeth Lacasse

Elizabeth has been a lifelong music-maker. She began her musical journey with piano lessons at home with her dad and later studied piano privately. She completed her Grade 10 RCM certification and earned a Bachelor of General Music from the University of Victoria, focusing on piano and composition. Alongside her classical piano studies, she found joy in songwriting, often preferring to write with her ukulele as a creative escape from the more academic aspects of composition and classical piano.

For the past seven years, Elizabeth has been teaching music to students of all ages at West Coast Christian School, where she is always looking for new ways to make music fun and accessible while catering to different learning styles. She teaches everything from recorder and ukulele to percussion and music technology, believing that music should be both engaging and challenging. Recently, she completed a Diploma in Music Technology to refine her production skills, helping both herself and others bridge the gap between creating music and sharing it.

Outside of teaching, Elizabeth continues to write and produce music. In 2019, she released her first album, Drift: Volume One, which was recently relaunched under the artist name Rational Creature. She is currently working on a full-length album. She believes creativity and music are lifelong pursuits—whether someone wants to dive deep into professional study or simply enjoy making music for personal growth and enjoyment. Her teaching philosophy blends technical skill with personal expression, ensuring that students not only develop strong musical foundations but also play the music that excites them.

Drew Storey

Drew Storey is a seasoned music educator and performing artist from Langley, BC. After over a decade of formal training including studies at Langley Fine Arts School, Song of Stars, and Selkirk College’s Contemporary Music & Technology program. Drew has built a career as both a recording artist and live performer, touring across BC with original indie/pop/rock music. His love of music began with an old-school approach to songwriting, drawing inspiration from the timeless styles of the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s. As an artist, his goal is to blend that sense of nostalgia songs that feel like they could have existed forever with the polish of modern production.

With years of experience in performance, songwriting, and band leadership, Drew brings a wealth of knowledge to his teaching. His philosophy blends technical foundations in rhythm, theory, and musicianship with creative exploration and confidence-building. He helps students not only develop strong skills but also discover their unique artistic voice.

Drew specializes in preparing students for real-world performance. Whether training for small, intimate acoustic venues or unlocking the kind of “stadium energy” that captivates a large crowd, or just sharing their music with friends and family, Drew equips musicians of all levels to grow as performers and step confidently onto any stage.

Elissa Matthew

Elissa Matthew is a passionate voice instructor with over nine years of vocal training and sixteen years of comprehensive musical experience. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Opera Performance from the University of British Columbia and is dedicated to inspiring and mentoring the next generation of singers, sharing the rich tradition of vocal artistry with musicians and music lovers alike.

Elissa’s extensive performance background spans a range of operatic roles and international training programs, including work with Chicago Summer Opera, the Taos Opera Institute in New Mexico, and Opera Viva in Verona, Italy. These experiences have allowed her to refine her technique, deepen her musical interpretation, and collaborate with distinguished instructors and performers across North America and Europe.

In addition to her vocal expertise, Elissa has studied piano since the age of six, completing the full Certificate of Merit program with both State and Branch Honors. While her specialty lies in classical music, she embraces all genres and is committed to helping her students explore and develop the styles they connect with most. She believes deeply in the joy of music making and strives to keep that joy at the heart of every lesson.
